* large room with separate bedroom and tatami parts * good location close to shopping street, about 10-15 minutes walk to Yodel Ski Lifts, and 5 minutes to Kumado lifts * very friendly and helpful staff, who kindly picked me up and drove me back to Myoko Kogen station * discount tickets available at the front desk (ski rental, lifts) * drying toom for ski equipment * the room was quite cold, but the electric heater I received at the front helped a lot * the story and paintings of Hatsuno Goto, hotel owner's relative
Myoko
The location of the hotel is pretty good with a relatively short walk to the Kumado chair for your days skiing The room was a reasonable size and worked well for our family of 4 (two older teenagers) and the beds were comfortable The onsen is huge and the outdoor bath is one of the best we have seen. Service level by the staff is also fantastic as was the free shuttle to/from Myoko Kogen station.
Very good value overall. Staff speaks good English. Got private bathroom, which is essential for me. Nice japanese breakfast, with variation everyday. Can buy discounted ski pass tickets (around 25% off) for Ikenotaira, Suginohara and Akakura Onsen. Free shuttle to get you to these 3 ski resorts too. Can do pickup at station between 7am and 7pm when you arrive and leave. Onsen bath is very nice and the building is very traditionally. Surprisingly, there are quite a few grocery shops and restaurants within 5 min of walking distance, which was one of my concerns before I arrived.
As an American who travels frequently I can say this was some of the best hosts I’ve ever dealt with. They care so much that you have a good stay. It was so convenient, breakfast and dinner was provided as was a shuttle to and from the resorts. Six stars!
The location right beside the piste was excellent, truly ski in, ski out. It's a short 10 min walk to town where there are lots of cafes and restaurants. A shuttle bus to all the local resorts is just at the bottom of the piste. The staff were very helpful and made our stay an absolute pleasure. We had dinner each evening and the quality and variety of food was outstanding. Breakfast was delicious and hearty with a mixture of western and Japanese foods offered. The rooms were spacious and the beds firm but comfortable.
We had an AMAZING time at Soratobu Usagi! The location is awesome. We truly enjoyed the ski-in/ski-out location. We did a bit of research and were able to reach it by train and bus from Nozawa Onsen. The team made everything super easy for us from snowboard rentals to lift tickets. The onsen in the basement is so relaxing and a real highlight. Everything was very clean and we felt very comfortable and cozy. We speak zero Japanese but they were very willing to help us with everything. We ate most our meals there and everything was SO good! We hit some powder days which was a nice bonus as well. We would definitely stay here again and recommend you to book it now!
The view of Mount Myoko (i think) is amazing!!
Location, organization, food, welcoming host… was all great!
Papa was amazing! He provided transportation to and from the ski resorts (Suginohara and Akakura) was there on time each and every day and took me to town to pick up supplies and food. I felt like part of the family and and Mama is an absolutely amazing cook. There kindness and goodwill exemplifies true Japanese tradition and sincerity! Thank you for your beautiful Hearts Moma and Papa!
Loved convenience of not having to go anywhere and we were able to just relax and have fun together as a family. All restaurants and meals/buffets were amazing. Soft serve machine a hit for the kids. Spa treatment was great. Amazing family holiday for us
It is one of the best ski resorts for beginner. The slope is a good challenge for newbies and the lift ticket is cheap and not crowded at all. I can get to snowboarding right in the back of the hotel. I would recommend it for families with elderly and kids. The dinner is included and it is very good and delicious.
